Yellow Fever Vaccination

Yellow fever is a viral infection which is transmitted by mosquitoes. The vaccination is required in tropical regions in Africa, Central America & South America. Proof of vaccination is required for all travellers coming from countries where yellow fever occurs, including transit through such countries.

Travellers Diarrhoea prevention

The oral inactivated Cholera vaccine, Dukoral, is also effective in preventing Travellers diarrhoea.

Travel consultation with Doctor

A medical check up should be made 6 - 8 weeks prior to your departure date. If taking prescribed medication, you should obtain a letter from your doctor to avoid confiscation or delays at countries borders.

People with chronic health issues (eg Diabetes, Respiratory Disease, and the immuno-compromised should also have a medical check up prior to departure with the necessary documentation regarding medication etc.

Advice and information on pregnancy and travel, what to consider at your destination and specific precautions that should be taken, as well as children and travel issues specific to your travel destination is provided by the clinic doctor.

This allows you to cover the cost of medical bills, access emergency medical assistance and even advice from a doctor over the phone.

Clinic Travel Service

Travel kits and vaccination certifications as well as general travel advice such as planning medical travel needs and determining the required supply of regular medicines, are available at the Clinic.

Our clinic has most travel vaccines available but you may also need a script for other vaccines

For long haul flights (over 8 hours) DVT prevention is important. The risk is increased for smokers, obese, pregnant women, women on oestrogen therapy(oral contraceptive pill, post menopausal HRT), previous DVT, recent lower limb surgery, cancer patients & others

Travel socks/stockings are now available at the clinic from $35. Appointments need to be made one week in advance.

The clinic is located at The Qantas Terminal 1 next to the Pharmacy. This clinic, set up by Dr Yeo is open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

The doctors at this clinic can provide DVT prevention for long distance travellers by administering Clexane injections prior to departure, as well as urgent travel medical assistance.

Travellers who should not receive clexane are those on blood thinning agents (warfarin) or with a bleeding disorder(coagulopathy) active peptic ulcer(stomach bleeding) or recent intracerebral haemorrhage (stroke)

General medical services will also be provided
to passengers & terminal staff.
