Clinic Disability Facilities

Both the Allied Health Centre and Swansea Road Clinic are accessible by wheelchair. This includes the toilet facilities which are accessible by wheelchair at both clinics

For the Hearing Impaired - Interpreter Services for non english speaking patients are available via the Doctors priority Line (TIS) 1300 131 450. TIS is a fee free service for a medicare consultation. Please let the surgery know at least 48 hours before the consultation.

The surgery can also assist if notice is given for Deaf/Blind patients. Eg. NABS (Auslan ,TTY services). Please let the surgery know if assistance is required a few days before the consultation if possible. (Dr Yeo is fluent in Auslan)

Implanon

Mirena IUD’s

An effective low cost form of long term contraception (5 years) is suitable for women who have given birth naturally. It can be used to control heavy menstrual bleeding. Dr Yeo is qualified to perform this procedure which requires a double appointment. When making the double appointment please advise reception that it is for mirena iud insertion.

Sclerotherapy

Treatment for small for small unsightly veins most commonly found on the legs. These veins serve no purpose. Sclerotherapy consists of repeated injections of a solution into these veins. Contact Dr Yeo for more information.

Vaccines

Childhood Immunisation
From March 2008 alterations to the Immunisation schedule have occurred.

Rotavirus Vaccine is free from July 1st 2007 for all babies born before may 1st 2007. The vaccine is given in a 3 dose course with the other scheduled vaccines given at 2, 4 & 6ths of age.

Gardasil Vaccine is free for all women who have left school & not received the vaccine as part of the school program. All other women need to be between the age of 18years to 27years.

After June 30th 2009 the vaccine may not be funded by the Government. The cost of the unfunded vaccine is currently $150 per one vaccine dose.

Special Services

Home Visits
During weekdays and Saturday mornings we do home visits for our patients in the local area if necessary. Where possible we ask that you ring before 10.00am to arrange these.

Test results
When ringing the surgery to obtain test results, please ring after midday as the results may not have been viewed by the doctor until this time.

Prescriptions ordered over the phone

Repeat scripts ordered over the phone require details to be left on voicemail/reception & WILL BE READY TO BE PICKED UP IN 3 WORKING DAYS. A FEE of $5 will apply.All other scripts require an appointment (including Authority Scripts, scripts for antibiotics or scripts requiring blood pressure & other health checks.)

Please note: YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN YOUR DOCTOR FOR OVER 6 MONTHS

CHILDREN’s Play Area available
